Nicosia

Nicosia, known locally as Lefkosia, is the capital and largest city of Cyprus. It is located at 35°10′N, 33°21′E. Located on the River Pedieos and situated almost in the center of the island, it is the seat of government as well as the main business center. Nicosia is the capital of the Nicosia District.

Ayia Napa

Ayia Napa (Agia Napa) is a resort at the far eastern end of the south coast of the island of Cyprus, famous for its sandy beaches. In recent years, apart from being a family holiday destination, it has become a 'party capital' similar to Ibiza, Rimini and Mykonos.

Paphos

Paphos is a coastal city in the southwest of Cyprus and the capital of Paphos District. In Antiquity two locations were called Paphos: Old Paphos[1] and New Paphos.[2] The currently inhabited city is New Paphos. Paphos is the mythical birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite, of love, sexual intercourse and beauty.

Protaras

Protaras is a predominantly tourist resort. It comes under the administrative jurisdiction of Paralimni Municipality. In ancient times, where now Protaras seems to be located stood the old city-state of Leukolla. The city possessed a small safe harbour where the Athenian Demetrius Poliorketes in the year 306 B.C. sought refuge, lying in wait for Ptolemeos.

Larnaca

Larnaca is situated on the east coast of Cyprus. The major international airport, Larnaca International Airport is located in this city. In ancient times, Larnaca was known as Kition, or (in Latin) Citium. The biblical name Kittim, though derived from Citium, was in fact used quite generally for Cyprus as a whole, and occasionally by the Jews for the Greeks and Romans.

Limassol

Limassol is the second-largest city of Cyprus, with a population of 176,900 (2005), the largest city in geographical size, and the biggest municipality of the island. The city is located on Akrotiri Bay, on the island's southern coast and it is the capital of Limassol District.

Pissouri

Pissouri is a seaside village located in Limassol’s district, Cyprus, between Limassol and Pafos. Pissouri’s administrative area is the third biggest in Limassol District. The main settlement of Pissouri is situated about three kilometres away from the bay named Cape Aspro, and is built on the side of a green hill.

Polis

Polis a small town at the north-west end of the island of Cyprus, at the centre of Chrysochous Bay, and on the edge of the Akamas peninsula nature reserve. It is a quiet tourist resort, the inhabitants' income being supplemented by agriculture and fishing.
